League of Evil 2 for iPhone review: this is why evil scientists don't like cyborgs

Should you pick up League of Evil 2? Only if you're a sucker for over 100 levels of punishment.

League of Evil 2 launched on iOS last week, making a big splash in the top 25. It's a pretty straightforward platform game with some smooth cortoon graphics. If there's one thing evil scientists hate more than irate lab monkeys and the pesky PETA people that inevitably follow, it's mercenaries with a cyborg arm and the singular goal of making them little more than a pile of gibs and goo.

Back to the iPad: What Apple should take from OS X Mountain Lion and give to iOS 6

Apple is clearly bringing the best parts of the iPad to the Mac, but how about bring iOS some of the best parts of OS X as well?

Yesterday Apple released the OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion developers preview, and like OS X 10.7 Lion before it, front and center was a drive to take what worked best in iOS in general, and the iPad in specific back to the Mac. To make an Apple experience that's more consistent across their two platforms.

But how about a little quid pro quo? There are several aspects of OS X, including some of what's being implemented in Mountain Lion, that I'd love to see in iOS 6.

How to take great looking portraits with your iPhone camera

We love to take pictures of the people we love. It's one of the primary reasons we buy cameras, and it's one of the primary reasons we use our iPhone camera. Our friends, our families, our children, whether it's for something special like a card or graduation, an event like a trip, a party or, or family get-together, or just a chance encounter, we always have our iPhone with us so we can always grab that perfect portrait of that important person.

2048x1536 pixel Retina display examined, rumored to be iPad 3 bound

For a while now most people outside the walls of Apple have generally assumed the iPad 3 would come with a 2048x1536 Retina display. The 2010 iPhone 4 introduced the idea of pixels so small they were almost invisible to the naked eye, and while rumors suggested the 2011 iPad 2 might make a similar leap forward, Retina displays that big just weren't in the cards. That was then. This is now.
