Apple gives us iMovie for iPad

Apple's resident video software engineering genius Randy Ubillos was on hand at the iPad 2 event today to demo Apple's newly universal version iMovie with support for iPad. With precision editing, multitrack recording, new themes, AirPlay to Apple TV, and HD video sharing, it looks to really take advantage of both the big screen and the new cameras in iPad 2.

$4.99, same price, double the device.

iOS 4.3 for Verizon iPhone -- missing in action?

iOS 4.3 for Verizon iPhone -- missing in action?

Apple just announced iOS 4.3 was coming March 11... but didn't mention the Verizon iPhone in the list of supported devices. Was that just an oversight, are we overly sensitive, or will the CDMA radio stack require some additional time for Apple to get iOS 4.3 out to the device?

It's not like Verizon owners will miss personal hotspot, but if it does take longer we'll miss Apple's previously rock-solid record of delivering updates to all devices, all at once.

Again, maybe we're over reacting so more as this develops...

Jobs: iPad has competitors flummoxed

<img src="/sites/imore.com/files/images/stories/2010/11/Jobsipad.jpg" alt=Jobs: iPad has competitors flummoxed" title="Jobs: iPad has competitors flummoxed" width="400" height="224" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43950" />

Apple's Steve Jobs took the stage immediately today as part of the iPad 2 event with 15 million sold and 90% market share. That's more than every tablet PC ever sold.

Jobs said it "flummoxed" competitors. While some made fun of Jobs calling iPad magical, and others complained about the price, Jobs said to "ask our competitors now". (Referring to the difficulty in matching iPad's price point.)

Jobs showed off 65,000 apps for iPad and 100 -- and they were being generous, he says -- for Android 3.0 Honeycomb and then went into a video of Apple execs, users, educators, professionals, and others proclaiming 2010 the year of the iPad.

Last minute iPad 2 mockups, specs... maybe

Last minute iPad 2 mockups, specs... maybe

With only hours aways from the official iPad 2 announcement, mockups of the new device showed up in China. It features a slimmer profile with tapered edges and a flat back, rear and front facing cameras, and bigger speaker. The power button and headphone jack are sloped much like on an iPod touch. The 3G antenna has a white cover, but it's expected to be black on the final units.

The digits on the back of the device and the model number is one for the original Apple TV while the FCC ID is for a WiFi-only iPad, but those could be mere placeholders on what is, once again, a mockup and not a real working tablet.

Also, iPad 2 has been spotted on Amazon Germany with a list of specs and availability date of March 17. The listing claims that the iPad 2 will have a camera, Thunderbolt, and a 1.2 GHz CPU.

What do you think? Real, fake, or really fake? Only a couple more hours until we know!

More images after the break!
