iPad 2 AirPlay mirroring walkthrough [video]

iPad 2 AirPlay mirroring walkthrough [video]

One of the most exciting features of iOS 5 is the ability to mirror the iPad 2 screen on a high definition TV via an Apple TV. When it is enabled, you can see everything that you see on your iPad 2 on the TV, including videos, games, documents etc, all in real time.

Apple ‘n’ Apps has put together an excellent video walkthrough showing how it all works. The video demonstrates the speed at which the data is transferred between the iPad 2 and the Apple TV. It is very very impressive.

Gaming on the iPad 2 will gain a huge boost with the release of iOS 5 and AirPlay mirroring. It will no doubt enable new innovative ways to play games on your TV and iPad 2, at the same time! Take a look at the video after the break. Let us know what you think in the comments!

Kingdom Conquest racking up in-app purchase charges?

Kingdom Conquest racking up in-app purchase charges?

Many users are complaining that Sega's Massively Multiplayer Online Game, Kingdom Conquest is "stealing" money from their iTunes accounts. Even though the game itself is free, the game has many in app purchases, ranging from $0.99 - $43.99, which since mid-May, users claim these purchases are being made without their consent. If these complaints are to be believed, it seems that even people that didn't download the original app are being effected as well.

Sega has responded to complaints in their forum:

"We are currently investigating this claim as well as some others, but since we have no access to any customers' iTunes account information or transaction histories we highly recommend contacting Apple directly. "

The difference between iPad 2 and Android tablet commercials

The difference between iPad 2 and Android tablet commercials

Apple has now aired a series of three iPad 2 commercials, the first of which clearly states up front that it's not about specifications, it's about experience. They go on to show how different people, in different walks of life, can use, benefit, and enjoy the iPad in a multitude of easy to understand ways. Verizon has aired a couple Android tablet commercials during the same period, and these focus on Flash, chipsets, and radio technologies.

Apple/iPad: "When technology gets out of the way everything becomes more delightful."

Verizon/Android: "Your wife will love the dual core Tegra 2 chipset."

Apple/iPad: "If you ask a parent, they might call it intuitive."

Verizon/Android: "4G LTE upgradeable."

Check out the videos after the break. Apple has shown how to sell tens of millions of iPads but apparently even Verizon still can't hear them now.

Apple will soon have enough cash to buy almost all their competitors

When Apple next announces their financial results, they should have close to $70 billion in the bank, which according to Asymco will be enough to buy all their manufacturing competitors with the exception of Samsung. That includes HTC, Nokia, RIM, LG, Motorola, and Sony Ericsson. (Google and Microsoft aren't manufacturers, they're platform vendors.)
