White Verizon iPhone 4 icons show up in iTunes 10.2

MacRumors says one of their readers did some digging through iTunes 10.2 and found that a white Verizon iPhone has been added to the previously existing white GSM (AT&T) iPhone 4 version.

[The icons] would be displayed in the Summary window within iTunes when the device is connected. The image is distinct from the original white iPhone 4 icon and clearly shows the antenna break on the top right side of the CDMA version that is not present in the GSM version.

Belkin headphone splitter - accessory review

YouTube Link

The Belkin headphone splitter adapter is a great accessory to have on hand for long trips or nights at the coffee house. Its purpose is simple. It allows two people to plug their own headphones into the same device. This is great for a long flight where you and another person may want to watch the same movie on an iPad or iPhone.

iPad 2, Will it blend? [video]

Tired of all the recent iPad 2 coverage? Well the guys over a Blendtec have just released a video for the iPad 2 version of Will it blend?

If you haven’t seen these videos before, they basically involve a guy in a lab coat sticking an expensive item of tech in a blender. This one is hard to watch, especially if your still waiting to get your hands on an iPad 2, it’s such a waste!

This video is based around the iPad 2 Apple keynote, but still has the usual outcome. Check out the video after the break.

TiPb TV 17: iPad 2 tourist

TiPb TV 17: iPad 2 tourist

We're back from flu enforced hiatus with an all new episode of TiPb TV featuring Apple's all new iPad 2! There's so much to cover we're going to be breaking it up over several shows and fair warning -- we're going to be having fun with it. (If you want a more traditional look, go read our iPad 2 review.)

This time around Rene and I take a look at iPad 2's Apple A5 chipset and iOS 4.3's JavaScript Nitro engine to see just how fast games like Infinity Blade can launch and websites like TiPb.com can render. Then we take FaceTime and the iPad 2's "cameras" on the road for a full on tourist test at the local mall. And oh man your eyes may never recover!

(In case you're curious, we used iPhone 4's Wi-Fi personal hotspot to connect iPad 2 to FaceTime over 3G which makes no sense but worked well.)

Watch along with us above and then let us know what you think -- is the web and app speed worth the upgrade? Are the cameras good enough to use in a pinch?

Google Mobile app updated and renamed Google Search [video]

Google Mobile app updated and renamed Google Search [video]

The popular Google Mobile app has just received a major update and a complete name change too. The app will now be known simply as Google Search.

The update offers more ways to interact with the app using swipe gestures. Swiping down in a page will reveal the search bar whilst browsing. There is also a dedicated apps button for quick access to mobile versions of Google Apps. A new toolbar is available to filter search results; again a swipe is initiated to access this toolbar, left to right.

If you leave the app and come back later, you’ll be able to either start a new search by typing in the search box, hit the microphone button to do a voice search or tap on the camera icon to use Google Goggles. If you want to get back to exactly where you were before you left the app, you can simply tap the lower part of the page and it will be restored.

Google Goggles, Voice Search, My Location and Gmail have also all been improved in this new app. There is a short video after the break, demonstrating the new features.

First major iPad competitor, Motorola Xoom gets reviewed

Android Central reviews the Motorola Xoom, the first Android Honeycomb tablet

While we were busy getting our big iPad 2 review posted, Android Central was knocking it out the park with a complete Android 3.0 Honeycomb-powered Motorola Xoom review. It's bigger, it's Google-ier, and it certainly has more logos on the bezel, but what did our sibling site think about it?
