This week B&H Photo has opened an Apple-authorized mini-store inside their one and only Manhattan, NY location.

Malware protection for older Macs

Some anti-malware software only supports newer versions of OS X. If you're running an older Mac, use this instead.

Some folks aren't comfortable upgrading their Macs' operating systems, and continue to use versions that aren't well-supported by new software. Fortunately there's still a solution for Macs running OS X Snow Leopard.

Google Calendar for iPhone review

Google Calendar for iPhone is off to a decent start, but it isn't pulling me away from Fantastical 2 any time soon.

Google Calendar has finally come to iPhone by way of a native app. And not only can it sync your Google calendars, it can also grab your local calendars, including iCloud and Exchange. Use Gmail? Google Calendar can even import events right from your email automagically. There's no denying Google's got some fancy tricks up its sleeve. That doesn't mean there isn't still work to be done.

Fitbit Charge HR fitness tracker review

Fitbit Charge HR fitness tracker review

When it comes down to it, the Charge HR is currently the best wrist worn fitness tracker in Fitbit's current lineup.

The Charge HR by Fitbit counts your steps, tracks calories, monitors your heart rate, and pairs right with the Fitbit app to give you an overview of your activity each day. It also features a small display that shows you current stats and call notifications without having to pick up your phone. It might not boast all the features its older sibling the Fitbit Surge does, but it's still a better option for most people. Here's why...

Animate to your heart's desire with Hype 3 and Hype Pro

I'm not a big fan of WSIWYG editors for the web. But Hype is something special.

Tumult's Hype — an HTML5 WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) web and animation editor — is approaching its four-year anniversary in May, and what a way it has chosen to celebrate: The company is releasing a major update for its professional and prosumer users in the form of Hype Pro, packaged inside the all-new Hype 3 as a $49.99 upgrade.

I've had so much fun testing Hype Pro over the last few months: It's an excellent upgrade for longtime Hype users, and I suspect it may draw in quite a few new pro users, as well.
