iPhone OS 4: iTunes streaming music in widget UI, is this how Pandora and Slacker will work?

We've already seen how iPhone OS 4 now includes double-tap to launch the fast-app switcher for multitasking, and how you can now swipe left to get audio control widgets for the iPhone, but it seems those audio controls are working for iTunes streaming now as well - and maybe more?

No iPad live! this week, will do special post-WWDC podcast on Monday!

Attention TiPb Nation -- due to travel and assorted craziness surrounding the Sunday night before the Monday morning WWDC 2010 (expected) iPhone HD/iPhone 4G introduction, we won't be able to do our usual iPad live! tomorrow night.

However, to make it up to you -- and to make sure we get to talk to you about whatever Apple reveals just as soon as inhumanly possible -- we're going to do a special edition podcast on Monday after the big reveal. We're not sure on timing yet, but it will be as early as possible.

Apologies for letting anyone down on Sunday night, but we'll make it up to you on Monday.

It's go time!

SquareTrade announces new iPhone 3GS Warranty

SquareTrade has sent us a little tip announcing its new coverage rates for the iPhone 3GS. As any iPhone owner knows, when you drop your phone, your heart may momentarily stop. We all know most warranties also don't cover drops and spills. This is where SquareTrade steps in. For only $99 you'll receive 2 full years of coverage. Compare that to AT&T's rumored new iPhone protection plan, and you've got yourself a deal with SquareTrade.

SquareTrade had this to say about their warranty pricing compared to AT&T's:

Pregnancy Tracker from WhatToExpect.com for iPhone - app review

Pregnancy Tracker from WhatToExpect.com for iPhone - app review

What to Expect when Expecting is one of the most popular pregnancy books available, and they also have an app to compliment their book and website. Pregnancy Tracker from WhatToExpect.com is an iPhone application for pregnant women to keep track of their pregnancy.

There are 5 sections of Pregnancy Tracker. The home screen, called "tracker", is where you see your due date, a countdown to your due date, Baby's gestational age, what trimester you're in, and something to compare your baby's size to. (This week, my baby is the size of a butternut squash!)

The Weekly tab provides useful information about what to expect with your body and also the changes that are happening in your baby's development. This section is very thorough and gives quite a bit of information.

The Daily tab is my favorite part of Pregnancy Tracker because I haven't seen this in another pregnancy application before. Here you are given a new tip, fact, or reminder each day. Most apps have something similar, but it only changes weekly.

You can store photos related to your pregnancy in the Photos tab.

The last tab is for Forums. This is a great section to communicate with other moms and moms-to-be about pregnancy or anything else related. What makes the forums even better is that they are the same forums that you can find on WhatToExpect.com. This opens up the conversations to anyone, not just iPhone users.

Pregnancy Tracker is a great pregnancy application that is packed with information. The main thing it's lacking is good pictures; It would be really nice if nice pregnancy related pictures were added to the app. Other than that, I have been very happy with Pregnancy Tracker. And the best part... it's free!

iKlenz cleaner solution for iPad and iPhone - accessory review

iKlenz cleaner solution for iPad and iPhone - accessory review

iKlenz Cleaner Solution for your iPhone and iPad removes, dirt, grime, fingerprints, bacteria and germs, while repelling dust. iKlenz gives your iPhone and iPad ascreen a streak free shine.

If I had to name my top 5 items I should always have for my iPhone and iPad this would most definitely be one one them. Since I do a lot of videos, I always ensure my iPhone and iPad are clean before a shoot. I also know that water and/or a shirt (iChadman, bellyrub?!) do not cut it when it comes to fingerprints and oil. Also Windex can cause damage to the delicate surface of the iPhone and iPad, so I never use that on my precious iPhone and iPad.

You just spray the solution on the cloth a few times, wipe the screen clean lightly then fold and dry off with the other side of the microfiber cloth (which comes with iKlenz). It works like a charm and lasts for a long time.

More MobileMe going free rumors

More MobileMe going free rumors

With the WWDC 2010 keynote mere days away, more rumors continue that Apple's push and sync solution, MobileMe, might just be going free. They're thin, admittedly, but BGR points us to a change in how account type is shown -- now "full member" is highlighted.

As opposed to free member?

We might just find out Monday, including what the differences are between "free" and "full" (or no change at all). We know you want it -- because we want it too - so go head, conjecture in the comments!

TiPb at WWDC 2010

TiPb at WWDC 2010

I'm going to be at WWDC 2010 from Monday to Wednesday, checking out what I hope will be all shades of 4th gen iPhone and iPhone OS 4 awesome, and meeting with developers to see what fiendishly clever plans they have for using that new tech to make even more wondrous apps.

Keep your browsers locked here for all our coverage, and feel free to follow us on twitter @TiPb for just the highlight (or @reneritchie for the not-fit-for-print backstage hijinks).

Email Apple CEO, get response from Jobs. Email AT&T CEO, get legal threat

Email Apple CEO, get response from Jobs. Email AT&T CEO, get legal threat

From the surprisingly poplar PR manual in how not to win customers and engender goodwill, AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson's email address doesn't seem anywhere near as likely to receive a Steve Jobs-style terse if direct response. Indeed:

Giorgio Galante found out today, sending AT&T's CEO two emails in two weeks results in a phone call from AT&T's Executive Response Team and a warning that further emails will result in a cease and desist letter.

Galactic Untangle HD for iPad - app review

Galactic Untangle HD for iPad - app review

Galactic Untangle HD for the iPad is a puzzle game. It is simple, yet challenging, and can easily keep you occupied for hours.

In each level, you are a given a bunch of points connected by lines, and your goal is to move the points around until there are no lines crossing. In mathematical terms, you are given a graph and it is your job to rearrange the vertices until no edges are crossing, i.e., result with a planar representation of the graph. This game is very strait-forward and simple, but not generally easy to beat. As you progress, the graphs become much more complicated and difficult to beat.

There are two modes in Galactic Untangle HD. In "free mode", there is no stress of being timed and you can relax and play at a leisurely pace. In "challenge mode" you are being timed and you have an option to submit your score to the world scoreboard. However, even though you are asked to enter your name, the world scoreboard does not display names. As someone who holds a few of the records, I find this annoying.

Galactic Untangle is an excellent game. It is designed well and looks beautiful on the iPad's screen. It has a simple objective, yet challenging gameplay. And best of all, it's a fun way to give your brain some exercise!

Sprint HTC Evo 4G -- here comes the iPhone HD/iPhone 4G competition

Phil Nickinson over at Android Central has just posted a full review of the Sprint HTC Evo 4G, which he's billing as the baddest Android on the planet. Big screen, front facing video call camera, brand new OS in the pipeline, it's not hard to see that this will be Sprint's answer to the iPhone HD/iPhone 4G (unless and until they're able to offer the iPhone HD/iPhone 4G on Sprint -- just sayin').

Steve Jobs intros iPad as Deathstar -- Thursday fun video!

Footages from Star Wars of the Deathstar attack briefing overlaid with audio of Steve Jobs introducing the iPad. Geek cute to be sure, but they could have gone the extra Star Wars fanboy mile and overlaid Jobs' head on the old dude and the iPad schematics over the Deathstar.

Still, a ton of you sent this in, so enjoy!
