Australian band Hey Geronimo brings iOS gaming to life

An Australian indie-pop band has created a music video for their latest track and the theme of the video is iOS gaming. In the video the band created real-life versions of hugely successful iPhone games like Angry Birds, Flight Control, Fruit Ninja, Cut the Rope and Plants vs. Zombies.

The band is called Hey Geronimo and after watching the video, it is obvious that they not only have a passion for music but iOS gaming too. The amount of work that appears to have gone into recreating these games into a real-life environment is very impressive.

Prudent parenting in the age of digital photography

Prudent parenting in the age of digital photography

David Barnard of App Cubby has a great post up, sharing his thoughts on how to responsibly handle things like GPS geo-location information in photos, to protect his children's privacy while not giving into technophobia or paranoia.

What’s even more alarming is that most of my photos are taken with an iPhone, which means they have GPS data embedded. I’ve always been leery of the cost and security implications of backing up photos online, so short of my computer having been hacked none of those photos have ever been exposed online. Rumor: Facebook buying Gowalla

Rumor: Facebook buying Gowalla

Facebook is apparently, buying Gowalla. If you preferred Facebook Places, you're probably already using it. If you preferred Gowalla, well, looks like you'll soon be out of luck.

Most of Gowalla's employees, including founder Josh Williams, will move to Facebook's offices in Palo Alto. The team will work on Facebook's Timeline feature, which launched at this year's F8 conference and is gradually rolling out to Facebook's 800 million members.

If this pans out, best guess is the Gowalla iPhone and iPad apps aren't long for this world.

Will you switch to Facebook? Foursquare? Or is this it for you, time to check out of check in?

Syrian authorities ban the iPhone

Syrian authorities ban the iPhone

It appears that Syrian authorities are now banning the use of iPhones in their country, seemingly due to activist use of the device to upload violent scenes to web sharing services such as YouTube.
