iPad 2 ads shot in New York last month?

9to5mac have reported that Apple were filming ads for the next generation iPad as early as last month. The ads were reportedly shot at New York's Pier 59 by David Sims, a British photographer.

Current generation iPads were used at the shooting of the ads and will be swapped out for the new model in post production. A participant at the shooting, said that there were no new products on scene, and that everyone had to sign non-disclosure agreements.

Quake 3 Arena is coming to the iPad by way of Cydia, with integrated touchscreen controls and reportedly far more stable gameplay than the current version for iOS devices. The port comes courtesy of Alexander Pick, forum member at Paduser.com, who has been refining this unique verson so that it's a perfect fit for the iPad. Me.com doesn't list Find my iPhone as paid MobileMe service but App Store still does

If you go to me.com on your iPad or iPhone you'll a screen with options to Install Find my iPhone and Gallery, and then a second category labeled as "Requires Paid Subscription", which includes Set up Mail, Contacts, Calendar and Install iDisk.

Cult of Mac says PrimeSense, the company whose technology is behind Microsoft's new Xbox Kinect, originally tried to sell it to Apple. What went wrong and why didn't Apple get it? Yup, secrecy and control!

Apple has a history of interface innovation, of course, and had recently introduced the iPhone with its paradigm-shifting multitouch UI. PrimeSense’s system went one step further: It was multitouch that you didn’t even have to touch. Apple seemed like a natural fit.

Apple launches App Store Hall of Fame

Apple has launched a new section of the iTunes App Store, a Hall of Fame, containing everything iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad from Angry Birds to Zen Bound 2. There are around 50 apps honored so far (the exact number might vary based on availability in your region) and includes news, travel, sports, entertainment, productivity, and of course, lots of great games.
