EA releases Battlefield Bad Company 2, Mortal Kombat 3 for iPhone, SimCity Deluxe for iPad, puts 70 games on sale for $0.99!

Electronic Arts released new games this week including Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Ultimate Mortal Combat 3 for iPhone and SimCity Deluxe for iPad, and to celebrate the holiday season, they've put a ton of their iOS games one sale for $0.99. Yes, you heard that right, a TON of them (over 70 to be exact), even iPad!

Battlefield Bad Company 2:

Based on the bestselling console game from DICE, let the battle rage in the jungle, snow, and desert, in close-quarter combat, and in the air. Utilize intuitive controls as you destroy enemies with tanks and choppers in state-of the-art vehicular combat. Go all-out in full online multiplayer mode, and get a modern-warfare simulation for iPhone & iPod touch that’s second to none. [$0.99 on sale - iTunes link]

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3:

The original arcade fighting game is available NOW! With 13 klassic warriors including Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Sonya Blade; multiple game modes; kustomizable kontrols; and updated visuals aimed to maximize the high-resolution Retina Display...you can relive the brutal combos and vicious fatalities that made Mortal Kombat one of the most iconic videogames EVER! [$6.99 - iTunes link]

SimCity Deluxe for iPad:

Made for dedicated and casual players alike, let your inner urban planner run wild with the world’s favorite city building simulation. As Mayor and City Planner, take delight in the immersive visuals, the bigger display, and responsive touch controls – all designed just for the SimCity Deluxe experience on iPad! [$0.99 on sale - iTunes link]

So if there were some EA titles on your wish list that you were really hoping to pick up soon, now is the perfect time. Games such as Madden and Mirror's Edge for iPad are normally over $10 each on iPad, so these sale prices are ridiculously good. Even two new releases are on sale for $0.99 as well. Can't beat that! (Mortal Kombat will still set you back $6.99 though. Fatality!)

Video and screenshots after the break. Anyone planning on picking up some of these titles or gifting them to others? Let us know what you decide to purchase or gift in the comments!

iPhone 4 vs Nexus S in Photos

iPhone 4 vs Nexus S in Photos

iPhone 4. Nexus S. There's probably more to say about the differences than the similarities. Different operating systems? Check. Don't work with 3G on the same networks? Check. Different screen sizes? Check. Different philosophy and methodology towards multitasking? Check. Different video conferencing solutions (insofar as few to none work yet on the Nexus S)? Check.

The list goes on, but we're sort of guessing that for most the choice between the Nexus S and the iPhone 4 will be determined by carrier choice and OS preference more than whether Android's latest can go head-to-head with Steve Jobs' glass-encased wonderphone.

All that shouldn't stop you from hitting us after the break for a photo fight between the iPhone 4 and the Nexus S - with some extra attention paid to how the iPhone still has the best music player around while Android's just-released Google Maps 5.0 makes iOS's version look a little lacking.

Want more? Be sure to hit up our frenemies at Android Central for all the latest on the Nexus S.

World of Goo now available for iPad

World of Goo, the popular physics based puzzle/construction game made by two guys from San Francisco, is now available on the iPad. I've been dreaming of World of Goo on my iPhone for years - to have it on my iPad is even better! In the short time I've spent playing, World of Goo is even better than the first time I played on the PC. Multitouch encourages my complete immersion in the game.

  • Drag and drop living, squirming, talking, globs of goo to build structures, bridges, cannonballs, zeppelins, and giant tongues.
  • The millions of Goo Balls that live in the beautiful World of Goo are curious to explore - but they don't know that they are in a game, or that they are extremely delicious.
  • Mysterious Levels - Each level is strange and dangerously beautiful, introducing new puzzles, areas, and the creatures that live in them.
  • World of Goo Balls - Along the way, undiscovered new species of Goo Ball, each with unique abilities, come together to ooze through reluctant tales of discovery, love, conspiracy, beauty, electric power, and the third dimension.
  • The Sign Painter - Someone is watching you.
  • World of Goo Corporation - Congratulations! World of Goo Corporation is the Global Leader in Goo and Goo Related Product, including World of Goo Corporation Trademark Brand Soft Drink Beverage and World of Goo Corporation Trademark Brand Facial Exfoliating Lotion. Succulent!
  • Massive Online Competition - Human players around the world compete in a living leaderboard to build the tallest towers of goo in World of Goo Corporation's mysterious sandbox. World of Goo Corporation is contractually obligated to state that everyone is a winner and is enthusiastic to celebrate everyone's tower building opportunities equally.

If you pick this one up, let us know what you think! Check out the video after the break.

Worry not, Firemint Founder and CEO Rob Murray, Real Racing 2 Producer Chris Nicoll, and Firemint Communications Manager Alex Peters were kind enough to sit down for an interview with us and dish all their secrets. (Okay, maybe not all, but enough tips and tricks to give you an edge!)

Apple anticipates selling 6 million iPad 2 a month, doubles up on touch panel suppliers, still no 7-inch model [Rumor!]

Everyone's favorite rumor sheet, Digitimes is back with yet more iPad 2 rumors, this time saying Apple expects to sell 6 million units a month of the next generation tablet in 2011, and to meet those numbers is lining up Chimei Innolux and Cando to current touch-panel suppliers Wintek, Sintek Photronics and TPK Touch Solutions. What's more:

Despite market reports stating that Apple is also likely to launch a 7-inch iPad as well as new iPhones, sources in Apple's supply chain in Taiwan claimed that they have not heard anything about orders for 7-inch touch panels.

iTunes 10.1.1 causing install problems, crash bugs?

We've gotten emails, comments, even angry ALL CAPS shouts during iPhone Live's chat, that some users aren't able to install today's iTunes 10.1.1 update through Software Update, while others who are able to install can't launch it without it crashing.

For both bugs try going to apple.com/itunes and download the latest version directly.

If you're having any problems or issues with iTunes 10.1.1 let us know, along with any solutions that help you through.
