UPDATED: iOS 4.3 coming today? 3-device personal hotspot limit up to carriers?

BGR is hearing from their sources that Apple might just release iOS 4.3 as early as today. Apple previously announced they'd be releasing iOS 4.3 on Friday alongside iPad 2 so take it with a Cupertino-sized grain of salt, however Apple has staggered release days previously to avoid everyone hitting their servers all at once. If it does come today expect the usual 10am PT/1pm ET start time.

iPad 2 lines already forming at Texas Apple Store

iPad 2 lines already forming at Texas Apple Store

We still have a full 4 days to go, but it looks like lines for the iPad 2 release on March 11th have already started forming outside of an Apple Store in Texas.

Maccast listener David sent me this snapshot of a tent apparently already outside a temporary Apple Store location in Texas.

The tent is said to belong to Justin Wagoner, who was also first in line at a Texas Apple retail store when they released the iPhone 4 last summer. The Apple Store in question is actually a temporary location for the Knox Street location in Texas which is currently undergoing renovations.

iPad 2 JavaScript speed test

iPad 2 JavaScript speed test

CNET UK was able to take the iPad 2 running iOS 4.3 out for a test drive and the results are hypercar impressive -- 2097ms. iOS 4.3 and its new Safari Nitro engine gets a lot of the credit -- it blows iPhone 4 and the original iPad past the likes of the Nexus S and Galaxy Tab as well (they've been unable to test a Xoom as of yet), but that Apple A5 is enough to power iPad 2 to very top.

iPhone 5 set to abandon glass back in favor of aluminum?

iPhone 5 set to abandon glass back in favor of aluminum?

According to a translated Chinese source (I know, a little sketchy to say the least) the iPhone 5 will revert to an aluminum back panel, in place of the latest generation's entire glass affair. The picture above is a concept however we would expect Apple to also provide a flash for the camera!

The source claims that Apple will dump the glass panel due to problems with scratching, breaking and the weight of the panel. The iPhone 5 is claimed to more resemble the latest iPod touch design. The original iPhone also had an aluminum rear panel and many still believe this model had the best build quality.
