Zane Lowe has announced that rapper Eminem will be his first interview subject next week with the launch of Apple Music and Beats 1.
In addition to featuring new and interesting music, Apple Music's Beats 1 radio station will also have interviews with figures in the music industry, and Zane Lowe has revealed his first guest to be Eminem. The interview is expected to air shortly after the launch of Beats 1, which will come with the release of Apple Music next Tuesday, June 30.
From Zane Lowe on Twiiter:
Eminem might seem like an odd choice for the first interview on Beats 1, given that his popularity has waned a bit in recent years. It should be noted, however, that he is currently an artist with Interscope Records, the label founded by Jimmy Iovine, who has been instrumental in Apple's latest music efforts. He's also been interviewed by Zane Lowe before, back when Lowe as at BBC Radio 1.
Beats 1 is Apple's always-on live radio station found alongside Apple Music. It's anchored by Zane Lowe in Los Angeles, Ebro Darden in New York, and Julie Adenuga in London. It aims to provide new and interesting live content for a shared listening experience in over 100 countries.
