Goodnight, Scott Forstall. Sleep well on your stitched leather pillow.

Yes, it matches iOS 7, but I miss the textures of the sewn leather.

KCMike says:

Hmm, IDK. The leather had to go.

sir17reeder says:

It is about time that they updated it with the iOS 7 UI! Now there are practically no apps by apple left in the old UI.

ahhh, Good ol' Keynote Remote ;)

nadnosliw says:

LOL

Do you use Keynote Remote? I love it when I use Keynote for my lessons. Can walk around the class freely. Pity Apple are leaving it to die an unceremonious death!

Great update. Glad apple finally got around to it.

I may actually download it again now. One reason I never used it was it's ui... Granted I still don't think any of my friends use it...

So glad they got rid of that hideous looking stitched icon. I have never liked it, even in skeuomorphism's prime.

Becjr says:

I'm happy to see this update. I did like the stitched leather, but I kinda like this look better. Maybe for the unified iOS 7 theme.
What I have to wonder about, though, is:
Are individual apps maintained by different divisions in Apple? Is that why it took so long to bring this app up to date with the other apps' style?
Also, have we alway had the option to bypass the login screen for "Find My Friends" if we have a passcode on the Lock Screen or is this a new feature?
Why were all of Apple's apps not all updated at the same time?

aslguy says:

Yes, you have always had the option to bypass the login screen for FMF if your device is protected with a passcode.

mashono says:

About time they brought the update out to unify Apples portfolio of apps. I do find this app useful ever now and then and the update is refreshing. The new icon is very pleasant compared to the last one.

I have he all but never use it. If I had kids I could see it being very useful. I guess I don't really need my friends knowing exactly where I am at all times. That's not to say they need or want to know.

Say goodbye to the stitched leather. Let Samsung use it for their phablet.

haha ;) Leather is going from one company to the next

boovish says:

I was wondering when they were going update this app. I thought that they had already done it though

I haven't used this app in about a year... Mainly because my friends don't use it. I think I will reinstall it to see if any friends has since decided to use this app.

I use this all the time. Being able to look at the map and see the contacts picture with their location is a nice touch! Very nice looking!!

I'm happy that it's finally updated but I never use it not nor my friends want to be found. Particularly by me! Lol

About time they did this. I'm with everyone else on this one. iOS 7 design is definitely the way forward.

counterculture says:

Never really found this app particularly "necessary". If we're friends then why can't I just send a simple iMessage/text to said person and find out where they are? A little obtrusive in my opinion but to each his own.

Still, happy that Apple has finalized all iOS 7 design elements, but now it's your turn third-party developers!

OreoMuncher says:

Oh no son... hold your horses. They still haven't updated Keynote Remote >:(

zdn1042 says:

I've never used this app as well as I never had the need to use its functions.
And yes, it would be great if more and more third-party developers can to make their apps look right home with iOS 7. (Also, I'm curious if devs who updated their app to an iOS 7 look would also bring those changes to their android-counterpart.)

Nice update I use it a lot to keep an eye in people lot better than the 3rd party apps

Finally! Takes them a pretty amount of time to get the Apple apps updated.

nadnosliw says:

Quite out of order for Apple to essentially demand iOS 7 updates from developers and take so long to get their own out.

FMF is really useful to me, my wife cycles to work so I like to check she made it safely without her having to text to say so. (We live in London, if you know about cycling in London you'll understand.)

I noticed earlier that a new function has been included - I can choose to notify followers when I leave or arrive somewhere. Good times.

You have to wonder if UI design is like fashion design. Will we see a comeback of skueomorphic apps in ten or fifteen years?

nnahorski says:

People use this app? That's the news story to me. Small sample size, but I don't know a single person who uses it. Reminds me of the ghost town that was Google Latitude.

Sent from the iMore App

Marty Edwards says:

I have a core of family and friends and we really enjoy this app and use it daily. Much more accurate than latitude when I had an android.

rafaelmelo2000 says:

You can be surprised, there are people as I that use it frequently.
To keep track of my wife and kids for security.

nnahorski says:

Yes, like I said, small sample size. I can see me using it (or something like it) when my children are old enough for me to worry about where they are.

Glad to see the leather gone. It never really made sense to me anyway.
There was never a consistent design concept across the apps.

Tyler Y says:

Byebye stitched leather! I'm surprised they didn't update it sooner, the stitched leather was very un-ios 7. What other apps besides Keynote Remote are left to update? ( I know keynote and probably others left would not be widely used ones, but I'm still just curious)

Justin Thiel says:

I love the new updated design, the only problem is that I can't get anyone to use the app.. It seems that people aren't too fond of being tracked everywhere they go.

The leather look was nice, for a while. Just grew old after a while.

Find my Friends, iBooks, Pages, Calculator . . . too much hideous orange.

BeyondtheTech says:

Still the name "Find My Friends" still sounds "skeuomorphic" and friendly, considering the rest of the OS and UI has turned rather "cold" and formal.

cburke1982 says:

I like the look!

rafaelmelo2000 says:

This app would be great, but it needs to have better libe-time search.
Sometimes the person has left the place for over 15 minutes and it stills says it is in the same place,

DarkMx2000 says:

Lol this is more of a stalker app then anything so I can't actually see my self ever using this, but I do love the new redesign :)

To be honest I don't use this app much, but happy that they keep making improvements.

I really like the new update. The majority of my family has this app and uses it frequently. It is just way more convenient for me to allow my parents and grandmother to see where I am instead of calling and texting every night, especially since I live alone. I do like the new feature of having the app tell someone when I leave or arrive at a location.
