Foursquare 6.0 gets more interesting and brings better search

The popular check-in app Foursquare has gone 6.0 and brings with it better insights and better search. Now you'll instantly see the most interesting things nearby instead of everything, making it easy to find something you'll actually like.

Instantly see the best of what’s nearby. In Paris for the first time? We’ll show you the top sights and attractions, approved by local check-ins. In a familiar neighborhood? We can tell you about an up and coming restaurant that just opened up a few blocks away. Whether you’re near familiar stomping grounds or a tourist fresh off the plane, we show you the most interesting things nearby when you open Foursquare.

Search is also now front-and-center so that you can quickly search Explore from the top of the app. You can search for what you're looking for, a type of place, or just tap Best Nearby to see Foursquare's top picks in the area.

Have you had a chance to put the new Foursquare to the test? What do you think of the new results?

Foursquare 6.0 gets more interesting and brings better search

Speaking of updates, how updating the iMore app to fix this annoying bug where I can't scroll the whole text? I need to go back and click again to read the entire post (or access comments section).

I checked out Foursquare a while back (over a year or two), but it didn't offer much places nearby and so i dropped it.

Just installed it again and played around with it and happy to see that a lot of places are now showing up and the overall application has considerably improved!! Liking it so far...

I'd download Foursquare in a second if it didn't have that annoying check-in feature.
Other apps like Around Me (and Maps) just show you stuff in your location.
That's all I need.

Foursquare is piling on features that make it that much more interesting and handy. The UI changes are subtle but brilliant. I rather like how the check-in tab is so prominent now. Just right there, whenever you need it. The notifications system has always been good. Only thing I wanna see is may be suggestion notifications if you desire. Something like you save a place that you are traveling to and when you get there it activates the particular feature and send you notifications on the go of all the places of interest without you actually opening the app. I don't know if it's already there and I just don't know about it. But I'd like to see this feature.
