GDC 2014: Bound through the clouds with crazy contraptions in Sky Story

Another one of the many upcoming games Crescent Moon showed us at GDC 2014 was Sky Story. This is a beautifully-rendered 3D platformer with some good old-fashioned top-down combat tossed in. It's borrowing much of its inspiration from the old Kid Icarus games, which is very much a good thing. Over time, players gather materials for a local wacky inventor who devises new machines that can propel you into new lands.

The graphics are altogether charming and perfect for kids, but the gameplay is challenging enough to keep us older folk entertained too. Sky Story should be hitting the App Store in about a year for probably $4.99.
