German Apple TV users get Vevo and NHL

Apple TV users in Germany have some new options for entertaining themselves. Apple's enabled Apple TV boxes in Germany to use Vevo and NHL channels, according to Macerkopf.

Vevo is a relatively recent upgrade to Apple TV: the service was added to an Apple TV upgrade back in August for the U.S., Canada and a number of other countries. Vevo is an on-demand music video service that sports a library of more than 75,000 HD music videos. It also features original programming and concert performances.

The NHL channel provides access to National Hockey League team information and videos, though an NHL GameCenter subscription is needed to unlock live games, replays and other special features.

As with other recent updates to Apple TV, no new software update or restart is needed to see these new channels.

Hope the NHL package they have is a better value than the one in the US. $150 and excludes in-market games and nationally televised games... and all playoff games are considered 'nationally televised' and are excluded. No thanks.
