Griffin's BreakSafe USB-C charger brings a touch of MagSafe to your MacBook

Accessory maker Griffin has announced a brand new USB-C charging cable that brings a little something extra to the table. Should someone step on the cord, the new BreakSafe Magnetic USB-C Power Cable will break away from its connector when the cable when plugged into a computer like the 2015 MacBook.

As with the MagSafe connector found on the rest of Apple's laptops, the BreakSafe cable keeps your computer from being pulled off of a desk, table, or your lap if someone should step on the cable, all while delivering power to your computer. The cable itself is six feet long, and Griffin designed the connector to stick out only a minimal distance, allowing you to leave it plugged in, even when disconnected from the rest of the cable.

The Griffin BreakSafe Magnetic USB-C Power Cable will be available in April at a price of $39.99.
