Hail, Dieter, and farewell!
Today is Dieter Bohn's last day with TiPb and the Smartphone Experts Network. Up until today, our editor-in-chief, Dieter founded TiPb -- then PhoneDifferent -- for SPE, recruited yours truly and most of the other staff at our sibling sites, and taught us how to run sites, communities, and generally be better bloggers than any of us could have imagined.
Dieter's going to take a short, and much deserved vacation, but then promises to be back with new endeavors. We wish him well! Our good buddy Kevin Michaluk will be stepping in to help fill his big, blond shoes, and Derek Kessler is taking the reigns over at PreCentral. Phil at Android Central and Dan at WPCentral... well, you're still stuck with us.
We're going to miss Dieter terribly, but we're also incredibly excited at what's coming next for SPE. It's a new start for everyone, and we can't wait to share it with you.

a sane voice departs. only Derek now as the lone voice of reason at precentral. it will all spiral into fanboy evangelist mayhem sooner or later. If Georgia leaves Tipb that's it. I'll have to be gone.

Yeah, I echo the comments. I fell in love with smartphones reading and listening to Dieter and the SPE network I am proud to be involved now and thank Dieter for that. Good luck I know you will be a huge success in whatever you do in the future!

I saw this news earlier on Twittee. The SPE sites are some of my favorites and I'm sad to see Dieter go but, I look forward to seeing what he does next. Best of luck to Deter and Crackberry Kevin has some big shoes to fill.
Wow. I used to read Dieter faithfully back in my Treo days, when he wrote for Treo Central. Excellent work. SPE won't be the same without him. All the best!

Dieter's writing ability allowed him to compose some of the most unbiased blogs posted on the SPE sites. Focusing on the subject while keeping person opinions and preferences aside seems a rarity in any media these days.

Just thinking about smartphone experts way back when it was VisorCentral, and I certainly remember Dieter from TreoCentral! Hopefully Dieter will still occasionally contribute to the blog, sort of as a "Editor-emeritus"

I too was just thinking about TreoCentral and all the time I spent reading and listening to the podcasts and then making the move to phonedifferent.com aka tipb.com. I really enjoyed your Stuff Dieter hope you go on to great things enjoy Cali.
