Homeland: Carrie's Run is an original prequel novel heading to iBooks in September

If, like me, you're chewing your fingers off waiting on Homeland season 3 to begin in just over a month's time, there's something heading to the iBooks Store a little sooner that may help pass the time. Homeland: Carrie's Run is a new, original novel based on the hit TV show that promises to be a prequel, in the sense that it follows the backstory of one of the lead characters before the events at the beginning of the first season.

Beirut, 2006. CIA operations officer Carrie Mathison barely escapes an ambush while attempting a clandestine meeting with a new contact code-named Nightingale. Suspicious that security has been compromised, she challenges the station chief in a heated confrontation that gets her booted back to Langley.

Expected to release in the U.S. iBooks Store on September 3, and in the UK on September 12, the novel is written by Andrew Kaplan, a former journalist and war correspondent who can boast Goldeneye on his list of writing achievements. A sample of the book can be downloaded now for free, along with pre-orders which can be placed now ahead of general release. If you're a big Homeland fan like I am, let me know if this is something that might interest you.
