Star Wars Headspace is coming February 19, and Beats 1 is offering your first look at the electronica/effects combination.
I don't think it's any great secret that I adore all things Star Wars, and on Monday, two of my passions collided: Apple Music's Zane Lowe announced the imminent arrival of a dance album called Star Wars Headspace, mixing many of Ben Burtt's famous sound effects and dialogue clips from the series with contributors like A-Trak, Flying Lotus, Baauer, Breakbot, Shlohmo, and even JJ Abrams himself. The album is being put together by none other than Def Jam records co-founder Rick Rubin, who also has a track or two on the record.
You may not hear any classic John Williams music being remixed on the album, but expect to hear plenty of Star Wars sound effects, beeps, boops, Darth Vader deep breathing, and dialogue skips.
You'll be able to get the full version of Star Wars Headspace on iTunes and Apple Music starting February 19, but if you want a sneak peak, Zane Lowe featured three tracks from the album on his Monday show, and Apple Music subscribers can listen to them below.
