Basic iCloud service is completely free. Extra storage can be purchased for an additional charge, and there's an optional iTunes Match services that runs $24.99 a year.

GoodReader for iPad has just received a significant update and now includes support for iOS 5 as well as iCloud. In case you don’t know, GoodReader is a fantastic application that can open and view many different file types such as PDF, TXT files, MS Office doc, ppt, xls, iWork ’08/’09, HTML and Safari webarchives. Apple announces location sharing app, Family and Friends

During Apple's Let's talk iPhone event, Apple announced their new location sharing app, Family and Friends.

With Family and Friends, you can share you location with other iOS 5 users. You can set the sharing time to be temporary and the location sharing will stop automatically at the end of the day. It also comes with simple privacy controls and parental restrictions.

During the Keynote, Eddie Cue used an example of using Family and Friends while at Disneyland as a way to keep track of everyone in your group.

Apple close to securing some international iCloud music rights, may reveal on Tuesday

Cnet is reporting that Apple is very close to securing the rights to offer iCloud music storage and iTunes Match in more countries than the U.S. at launch. When the service was first announced at WWDC, Apple only had the iCloud music storage and iTunes match agreements in place with the U.S. record labels.

Apple resetting developer iTunes Match iCloud libraries on September 26

Apple has announced that it will reset developers iTunes Match iCloud Libraries on Monday September 26.

This is a similar to lasts week's announcement, where we saw Apple resetting developer’s iOS 5 iCloud backups.

To continue to improve the overall quality and reliability of iTunes Match, it has become necessary to delete all current iCloud libraries.

Apple has once again opened the beta doors to its music locker service, iTunes Match, for US developers. To get in, you'll need the latest iTunes 10.5 beta 8 and a US iTunes account associated to a US credit card (sorry international devs, no gift cert'ing your way into this one.)

Apple has put up a post on their Developer News page tellings devs to start getting their apps ready for iCloud Backup and Restore:
