iOS 5 bug may lead to untethered jailbreak
Chronic Dev Team member @pod2g let the jailbreak community know that he's discovered a new bug in iOS 5 that may allow for an untethered jailbreak in the future.
Hey jailbreaking friends, I've found a bug that can untether iOS 5. Don't expect a release soon, but I'm gonna work hard in it.
Currently, the only way to jailbreak iOS 5 is by tethering your iPhone to your PC or Mac and re-jailbreaking with RedSn0w each time a reboot is needed, which can cause a lot headaches for users on-the-go.
Details are slim, and we still aren't sure if this will cover the full gamut of iOS devices including the new iPhone 4S. In any case, we're looking forward to an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 but it appears we'll have to wait a bit longer. They won't know how to patch it until the JB is released, and they're only on 5.0.1, not 5.1 yet.

I installed the iOS 5 just because... I couldn't wait :-( and now I really miss my jailbreak! Please help...
I did the tethered jailbreak, and it works fine. I don't habitually reboot my phone, or turn it off at night -- just put it in Airplane Mode. Just like an untethered, but not!
with the tethered JB, do you need to reconnect it to respring too? or just reboot?
Just for reboots. Resprings are no problem

exactly. so, what's the point (unless they're willing to stick with 5.0 forever)? haven't these guys learned by now?

... Yea, I'm patiently waiting on this one. So much so that I haven't even checked into all the bells and whistles of iOS 5 yet. But when the untethered jailbreak is available I'll get all the tools and head over to tipb's iOS 5 overview and see what I'm getting. Until then, we major w/4.3.3.

Pspcso here, I just ported cydia to the 4s running 5.0, its glitchy and has size mismatch but so far installous seems to run on(siri glitches it up). No public method yet because it is removed after power off(tethered). The flaw is in the mnt mount, .sh boot
Hello, Neat post. There's a problem together with your website in web explorer, may check this? IE nonetheless is the market leader and a big section of other people will leave out your magnificent writing because of this problem.
