iOS 7.1 beta 4 now available, developers go get it!

Apple has released iOS 7.1 beta 4 to developers. Registered iOS developers can download it from the Developer Center or over the air on a device with a previous beta installed. To install over the air, simply go to Settings > General > Software Update, and hit Install.

That site is loaded with adware crap and can't be read long enough before the site loads another page. Stay away!!!

Note that if your device is not registered with the Apple Developer program, you can't install a download from a torrent... caveat emptor.

Just curious why non-devs should be downloading beta software? As far as I know iOS betas aren't public are they?

kch50428 says:

Betas are not intended for the general public... however, it used to be that one could download betas from non-Apple sources and install them... but since iOS7.1 beta two came out - the process included validating the device's UDID with Apple in order to complete the install... so - torrents for downloads are of little utility since registered developers can go straight to Apple for downloads.

kch50428 says:

You have to have your device registered with Apple, and have the beta 3 installed.

iOS Gravity says:

Yep. You need that to get it via OTA.

mulasien says:

To piggy back on kch50428's comment, beta builds are for developers to work with before general public release. Furthermore, beta builds tend to be buggy with some features not working, and can screw up your phone. To be honest, if you have to ask why you can't find the beta build, then you *really* should not be putting it on your phone, as you're not the intended audience.

Siri's UK voice has been changed in iOS 7.1 beta 4. the good news is they have added a female voice now.

I've been a dev for several years now, and these builds are meant for dev's. I have no empathy for those who put an unfinished product on their device complain about it. iOS betas are not for the general public and if you read the eula on a beta, it will tell you that. If you really want to put the software on your phone, pony up the money and follow the rules like the rest of us.

metacuate says:

I have 7.1 beta 4 on my phone and it works a lot better than the current public build. I just registered my phone with one of those udid registration sites and enjoy fiddling with it. Don't have to be a registered dev to enjoy playing with the phone.

I really wish they would go back to the older style dialer. The new version has one hand usability issue unless you have un-naturally long fingers.

CORYK333 says:

Maybe you should just get longer fingers........
