Clear is a task, todo, and reminder app that's currently available for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. The iOS version of Clear is completely gesture driven and has no buttons to tap or press anywhere in sight. For many of Clear's users, that is part of its appeal. Simply pinch out to create a new list or task, pinch in to return to the upper level.
At its core, Clear acts as a system of layers. On the very top layer, you have access to Clear's settings. Drill down further to get to individual tasks and to create them. Once you've finished something, just swipe it away and you're done with it.
Clear can sync all your todo and reminder data with iCloud as well so if you're using Clear for Mac, all of your tasks stay in sync between both. If you have separate lists that you'd like to maintain inside clear, you can set separate themes for them too so you can tell them apart easily by color coding.
The Clear app and service has went through many transformations since the initial app was released for iPhone. A Mac version of Clear was later released but none of the Clear products had built-in push notification support. That came later in the form of reminders, which can now be set on individual tasks you want to be reminded of.
Many task and todo apps available have lots of buttons and menus to learn. Part of the reason we like Clear so much is because of its simplicity. Gestures are a huge part of iOS now so why shouldn't they be a huge part of great apps? Clear is a perfect example of how gestures can be used to enhance our experience. Anyone who doesn't want handling todo lists to be just another task will appreciate the ease of use Clear brings to the table.
