Lillium Purse for iPad mini by Intrepid Bag Co. review

The Intrepid Bag Co.'s Lillium Purse is really cool. It's a side satchel purse designed for the iPad mini. It's gorgeous leather on the outside and soft suede inside to protect against scratches. There are two pockets, one for your iPad mini, and one for anything else, including an iPhone or...
How do you use your iPad?

How do you use your iPad?

Apple juggled their iPad lineup yesterday, kicking the iPad 2 to the curb and bringing the iPad 4 back out of retirement. For anyone who wants a slightly less expensive full-sized iPad, that's a big improvement. For anyone trying to decide which iPad they want, it's even more confusing. We have...
How do you protect your iPhones and iPads?

How do you protect your iPhones and iPads?

Almost everyone has been in this situation at one point or another. You pick up a new iPhone 5s or iPad Air, maybe a iPhone 5c or Retina iPad mini, you use it for a while, and then it starts to show signs of wear and tear. Maybe you banged it against the wall and got a little ding on it, maybe it...
Is iOS 7.1 worth giving up your jailbreak for?

Is iOS 7.1 worth giving up your jailbreak for?

iOS 7.1 brings a few new features, some great accessibility updates, and some much needed bug fixes to the iPhone and iPad. If you want it, however, you're going to have to give up your jailbreak to get it. That's because, unlike iOS 7.0.x, iOS 7.1 has been jailbroken yet and, as is increasingly...

Why a 5-inch iPhone 6 is far more important than a 13-inch iPad Pro

Why a 5-inch iPhone 6 is far more important than a 13-inch iPad Pro

iPhone 6. 2014 has only just begun and it seems like 5-inch iPhone and 13-inch iPad Pro rumors are already getting a lot of attention and generating a lot of discussion. That both sets of rumors tend to focus around larger screen sizes is interesting, but what's really interesting is why a bigger...
Would you want the Phone app on your iPad?

Would you want the Phone app on your iPad?

Should the iPad have the Phone app? With all the talk of a large screen iPhone 6 this year, and potentially more in the years to follow, it's got me wondering — how big is too big? One of the arguments for a big screen iPhone is that it would better serve people who need a phone but want only...
iPad 2

The iPad 2 is dead...long live the iPad 4!

Following recent speculation, Apple has this morning finally laid the iPad 2 to rest. Replacing it, is the iPad 4. That's right, Apple's "iPad with Retina Display" is back on sale starting at $399 in black and white for the Wifi only version, and from $529 in the same colors for the cellular...

Poll: iPad 2 jailbreak

So the iPad 2 untethered jailbreak is now live, and just like with the iPhone, Ally has already posted -- and keeps updating -- her simply superb iPad 2 jailbreak how-to, but given that iPad jailbreaking has historically been less popular than iPhone jailbreaking, I'm left to wonder how many of you have actually cracked open your bigger screened iOS devices? How many of you have jailbroken your iPad 2?

Choiix Wake Up Folio for iPad 2 review

"If you like the Smart Cover but don't like its propensity to fall off or the lack of protection it provides the back plate, you'll love the Choiix Wake Up Folio for iPad 2."

The Choiix Wake Up Folio for iPad 2 is just like Apple's Smart Cover but includes a back plate to protect the aluminum backing of your iPhone. That extra back case also means it won't fall off the way Apple's Smart Cover often does. In fact, the iPad 2 snaps right in and fits snuggly and securely enough that you can lift it by the cover, something impossible with Apple's original.

Ally's most used accessories of 2011 for iPhone and iPad

I have a very short attention span when it comes to accessories for my iPhone and iPad, and my most used accessories reflect that. To really keep my attention an accessory has to stand out from what I already own. If it looks like something I already have or doesn't provide any additional features, I probably won't give it a second look. Here are the ones I've found to be functional and versatile enough to keep around.

Hands-on with the Octa WhaleTale & Vacuum Dock

Octa WhaleTail and Vacuum Dock is a tablet holder that suctions to the back and contours the hand very nicely. To get the back to stick on the iPad all you have to do is put it on there, give it a few pumps and it's on there, and rather firmly. Releasing the holder is pretty simple (once you get the hang of it) -- pull up slightly on the two tabs and then push them in, and off it comes. Also included is the WhaleTail which hooks onto the back of the Vacuum Dock which allows the tablet to be propped up and it also doubles as a security measure for when you are carrying your tablet around so it doesn't just fall right out of your hands.

Check out our live hands on from CES 2012.
