Where is my phaser?? What we see on TV is hard to imagine for a future product. Where is my ship that can travel here to the unknown. The "magic" started in 2007. When I saw the multi-touch feature, my "jaw dropped to the floor" !!! Magic! This multi-touch revolution extends itself to others to program this flat device to do many, many, many things: a calculator, weather, games, etc. This flat device is magic. Sure, the magic has become jaded. It was small tablet that was capable to make phone calls. Now, every electronic companies learned the magic, but not quite right, though. I can't stand android version of this magic. It has exceeded. Computer itself is magic that was invented long time ago.
Georgia, isn't the multi-touch not "magic"? Who ever thought this was possible and came forth? The market exploded and everyone was so amazed by Apple. Apple did not just made a phone, but a new phone that no one ever thought of. It took over 4 years and Google still have not succeeded. iPhone is so awesome!
I think there is no multiple users on a single iPad, because there is not enough storage (64gb is not enough). Maybe, when Apple introduce the cloud, we might able to do so. It depends how this clould will work. Each app can save files to the cloud and option to save on the iPad. I already have used 30gig on my iPad 2.
Wow, thats a really clever way of tihnnkig about it!
Bravo! Good show! Spread the magic!
Thanks, happy you enjoyed the show. Yes I have to say that touch gestures are pretty enjoyable and make the experience of interacting with your device so much more intuitive.
I have tried out many tablets and so far no one can compare to the responsiveness of Apple.
Georgia is right, this is not really magical and I'm tired of hearing it but they haven't so I doubt they will stop it. If they released this before the iPhone, maybe, but right now, nothing magical about making an iPhone tablet size.
Good show :)
What is with all the background noises during the podcast? It sounds like someone is hold their mic in the fish tank. I like the show but the garbled noises almost make it impossible to listen too.
we will look into it
TiPb folks- have to disagree in your answer about using the iPad in other countries, I was in the UK in Oct and went to the London Covent Gardens Apple store to get a sim card that would give me data in the UK on my US AT&T iPad1. They were able to swap sims, but all my apps went away. They told me I'd have to sync with my PC once to get them back, then I would be OK in the UK. Unfortunately, I had left my PC in the US. So unless you're willing to drag your laptop to Europe along with your iPad, you can't just swap Sim cards.
Georgia,
In iPad Live # 50, you mentioned an app that remembers your folders (and what is in them). This way, when you install the new iOS version you can reconstitute your folders and contents. You never mentioned the app's name? Is it a jailbroken app? an App Store app?
Please tell me. I am interested in this app very much. I am tired to re-creating my folders every time a new iOS release comes out.
Thanks
