Apple keeps creating new and cool looking TV ads for its Apple Music streaming service, and the latest one may be its best commercial yet. It features major TV show actors Kerry Washington (Scandal) and Taraji P. Henson (Empire) heading to singer Mary J. Blige's house for some down time with Apple Music.
The commercial, which debuted on Sunday night as part of the Emmy Awards, shows the three women getting nostalgic over the disappearance of mix tapes made by boyfriends. However, they soon discover that Apple Music can serve as their new "mix tape boyfriend" by streaming songs that are made for their specific tastes.
The commercial was directed by Ava DuVernay, who also directed the acclaimed 2014 docudrama Selma. In a Twitter post, she revealed this Apple Music ad will be the first of three she directed that will be shown on TV over the next week.
