Newly-leaked Microsoft presentation documents show that the company is planning to launch Office 16 for Mac sometime in the first half of 2015 and that it wants to give those users software features that will be similar to the ones found on the Windows version.

The leaked presentation, posted on the Chinese language site CNBeta, shows that Office 16 for Mac programs will gain features previously reserved for Windows users, such as a presentation view for PowerPoint. Office 16 for Mac will also have better integration with Microsoft's cloud services such as OneDrive. A beta version of Office 16 for Mac could be launched by the end of 2014, if these documents are accurate. It's likely that Microsoft will give Mac owners a way to access the new version via an Office 365 subscription, which starts at $6.99.

While Microsoft has not launched a major new version of Office for the Mac since 2010, it did launch full versions of Office apps for the iPad in March. Is Microsoft taking too long to launch a new Office for Mac owners?
