Good news for Max Payne fans today; Rockstar Games has announced that the latest title in the series, Max Payne 3, will finally make its way to the Mac on June 20. That's just two days from now.

Spicy Horse Games - the Shanghai-based game developer started by American McGee - has announced the release of Akaneiro: Demon Hunters for Mac, Windows and Linux on Steam. The game is available as part of Steam's Early Access program, and costs $9.99.

The most frequently repeated joke at WWDC about the new Mac Pro is that it looks like a trashcan or a cigarette tray. There's nothing trashy about it: it looks more like a jet turbine - an example of form following function so evident throughout Jony Ive's design catalog.

Twitter has pushed out an update to Tweetdeck for Mac giving it the same new interface as the web clients received a short time ago. The new looks is cleaner, has a new navigation bar on the left of the screen and makes customising your experience that much simpler.

OS X Mavericks is the first OS X build to be named for something other than a big cat (Apple has run out of feline names, so they're switching to place names). it takes its name from a popular big wave surfing spot in northern California, not too far away from Apple's headquarters in Cupertino. And indeed, Mac users will be catching some big waves when Mavericks makes its way into the Mac App Store this fall.

The new Mac Pro isn't the only new Mac model with PCIe-based Solid State Drive storage. The new MacBook Air, which began shipping this week as soon as it was introduced on stage at WWDC, also uses the technology, according to Ben Lovejoy at 9to5Mac.

To go with the new AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule announced at WWDC 2013, Apple is now pushing out an update to AirPort Utility for Mac. Version 6.3 allows you to set up and manage the new AirPort Express and Extreme, as well as the new Time Capsule. In addition, it also provides you with the facility to configure the 802.11ac WiFi on these devices alongside some enhanced remote management features.

Unveiling the new line of Haswell powered MacBook Air's at WWDC 2013, Apple touted some really impressive battery life, and in part at least, some of that may be down to a larger battery. The folks at iFixit got hold of a new 13-inch Air and did their thing on it, and revealed a couple of interesting facts about what lies inside.
