Apple currently makes both portable and desktop versions of the Mac. For portables, there's the ultra-light MacBook Air line, and the ultra-powerful MacBook Pro line. For desktops, there's entry-level Mac mini, workstation-level Mac Pro, and the all-in-one iMac. Running on all of them is OS X, and its current version, Mountain Lion (10.8).

Even though it has numerous issues, the ability to receive and respond to iMessages, as well as AIM, Jabber, etc. if you really must, makes it enormously useful. Except, searching on it absolutely sucks. The moment you start typing in the search box, Messages freezes in a way that makes iTunes seem snappy. It's not good. It's the opposite of good. iOS 7 wasn't the only star of the show at WWDC 2013, OS X 10.9 Mavericks was officially announced and released to developers the very same day. During the keynote we saw the numerous new features that would be coming to the new version of OS X, including some until now iOS exclusive apps in Apple Maps and iBooks, and a consumer friendly approach to password management with the new iCloud Keychain. But, we want to hear from you guys; what are you most looking forward to in OS X 10.9 Mavericks?

How OS X Mavericks will save you power and boost performance

OS X Mavericks is the first OS X build to be named for something other than a big cat (Apple has run out of feline names, so they're switching to place names). it takes its name from a popular big wave surfing spot in northern California, not too far away from Apple's headquarters in Cupertino. And indeed, Mac users will be catching some big waves when Mavericks makes its way into the Mac App Store this fall.

AirPort Utility 6.3 for Mac pushing out, support for new AirPort hardware and Time Capsule

To go with the new AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule announced at WWDC 2013, Apple is now pushing out an update to AirPort Utility for Mac. Version 6.3 allows you to set up and manage the new AirPort Express and Extreme, as well as the new Time Capsule. In addition, it also provides you with the facility to configure the 802.11ac WiFi on these devices alongside some enhanced remote management features.
