Mail More Photos smashes puny iPhone photo email limit [jailbreak]
Mail More Photos is a new jailbreak mod in Cydia that aims to get rid of the five photo per email limitation on iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.
Mail More Photos allows you to attach as many photos as you want to email. The default limit of 5 photos is removed from the Albums and Places views. The title bar is also updated to show the total size of all selected files.
The added value of showing how many photos you've selected, along with the total size of the photos you'll be emailing is really great. Mail More Photos requires iOS 4 or higher, and is the perfect extension to an already useful feature.

Awesome. Another reason for jailbreaking. I never understood the reason behind this limitation anyways.
I think the reason behind the limitation is most likely Apple trying to limit consumers to sending emails of "reasonable" size. There are many people that cannot receive email messages over a certain threshhold but this varies widely and is based on the Internet Service Provider that that the recipient is using. There could also be SMTP limitations (sending mail) but I am unsure.
I've had my brother send me hundred meg emails that then bounced from my ISP. That's what they're trying to avoid. Note, that this same kind of size limit also applies to video files.
