Mercedes-Benz's plans for supporting CarPlay in its 2016 cars appear to have leaked out. In what seems to be an internal memo to dealers, the automaker states that it will offer CarPlay in one of two packages: either as a standalone option, which costs an extra $350, or as part of the revised Multimedia Package.

Carplay will be available in the following 2016 Mercedes-Benz vehicles:

  • 2016 CLS400
  • 2016 CLS550
  • 2016 CLS63 S
  • 2016 E400 Coupe
  • 2016 E550 Coupe
  • 2016 E400 Cabriolet

  • 2016 GLE300d
  • 2016 GLE350
  • 2016 GLE400
  • 2016 GLE450
  • 2016 GLE63
  • 2016 GLE63 S

CarPlay allows you to use many of the functions of your iPhone in a safer manner than fumbling around with your phone. The system includes heavy integration with Siri, allowing your to use a wide variety of voice commands. A small selection of third party apps are also available to use with CarPlay, such as Overcast, Spotify, and Audible.
