Office apps for iPad get support for AirPrint

Microsoft Excel for iPad

Microsoft's suite of Office apps for the iPad have been updated with support for AirPrint. Now users can take their favorite documents, spreadsheets, and presentations and fling them through the Wi-Fi ether to a compatible printer. The updates have hit the App Store for Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Printing options include with or without markup from Word, and individual pages/sheets/slides can be printed as well.

In addition to AirPrint compatibility, PowerPoint has received support for SmartGuides for easier alignment of in-slide elements, and Excel for iPad now has received the row and column autosizer AutoFit. Plus a set of the requisite bug fixes and stability improvements.

The apps for Microsoft Office are free from the App Store, but maximum functionality will only come with an Office 365 subscription.
