Orange UK launches iPhone 4 and iPad 2 Connected plan, including the two devices

Orange UK has launched a unique connected plan which includes an iPhone 4 and iPad 2. This is aimed squarely at customers that want to get both an iPhone 4 and iPad 2 on contract but only receive one monthly bill.

Orange is offering any combination of iPhone 4 or iPad 2 on a single plan at a cost of £65.00 a month ($106). This includes 600 minutes of talk time, unlimited texts, unlimited BT Openzone WiFi access and a 2GB shared data allowance across both devices. The contract duration is two years.

A one off cost, in addition to the monthly plan is payable for the two devices. You can tailor the package to suit; if you want an iPhone 4 16GB or 32GB matched with an iPad 2 16GB, 32GB or 64GB. The only difference in cost is the one off payment. The cheapest combination of an iPhone 4 16GB and iPad 2 16 GB coming in at £99 ($162) and the maximum combination of a 32GB iPhone 4 and 64GB iPad 2 coming in at £299 ($488). All iPad 2 models are 3G and WiFi.

The offer is currently available to existing Orange customers. If you’re not an Orange customer, you can still get a similar deal; although the one off payment price increases by an additional £50 ($82)

Rogers in Canada has been offering something similar for a while; you pay an additional $30 and can share your 6GB of data between iPhone and iPad. However, it costs only a few dollars more to get an extra 5GB for iPad all on its own, so clearly this is still an area for experimentation.

Would you consider taking up an offer like this? Would you want AT&T or Verizon, or your local carrier to offer it?

Orange UK launches iPhone 4 and iPad 2 Connected plan, including the two devices

maybe im not reading that right but it sounds awfully expensive per month.
take my voda contract £35 a month for my i4 with 600 mins/ unlimited txt/ 1gb data (not shared, admittedly) tethering costs me £5 per 500mb if i want it. so even then £55 would get me my iphone 1gb and a whole 2gb for my ipad or laptop.
Something is afoot as there are rumors of voda bettering their tethering options/data plans, which i for one am looking forward to as i rarly have the need to tether but object to paying extra to do it when i dont use all of my iphone data

My complaint is that I pay $25 for 2GB on my iPhone per month. I only ever use about 200-400MB. Obviously, I'm right where AT&T wants me. I use more than the $15/200MB plan but never come close to the 2GB limit. With all this extra data, why can't I at least be able to hotspot for free??? I would love to have the ability to hotspot my Wi-Fi only iPad 2 without paying extra.
Yes - I know you can on jailbreak - not interested.

£65 a month???
Okay, £99 start price for both the iPad and phone so you gotta claw back the other £700 plus the tarrif charge.
Think it's pointless having a 3G iPad, might as well offered more data and tethered them up. Seems much simpler and users get to play more!!

You can't get away from the fact that their service is shockingly bad too. I'd never go with them again. I had to complain to Tom Alexander, CEO of Orange UK just to get the mast in my area repaired. Worked though.
