Battery cases are great — they extend the usability of your iPhone for hours past what you get with the built in battery. But when the battery case runs out of juice, you're hosed, at least until you can charge it back up. Prong aims to fix that with the PWR case for iPhone 5 and 5s, coming this summer. It's available for pre-order for $65; when it goes on sale it'll cost $79.99.
The PWR case incorporates a detachable backup battery and integrated plugs, so you can charge it in any outlet without needing a USB cable or a separate AC adapter. The battery pops off from an inner protective bumper, so you can still use your iPhone — protected from scratches and dings — when you're not using the battery.
The PWR case's battery sports 1500 mAh capacity. The case will come in black, white, blue-grey, and white-pink.
