Snapchat 6.1 update brings smart filters, fancy text, and a front-facing flash

If you use Snapchat regularly, you'll want to check out the new 6.1 update which includes new smart filters, special text, and a best friends feature that lets you put up to seven friends in a favorites category of sorts.

The new features aren't anything to write home about but for regular Snapchat users, at least you can add new filters?

All the new features are off by default so in order to enable and start using them, just update the app then hop into settings and then manage. Enable what you'd like and you're good to go. If any regular Snapchat users have grabbed the update, let us know what you think in the comments. I'm not quite understanding what the smart filters feature actually does, so if you figure it out, let us know!

Why does that look like a pixelated picture of a nude person? I really hope it's not just me who sees that!

I think you may be right. Maybe that's why it's pixelated. have some explaining to do! Lol

Scarlett you say... She's a beauty for sure but as tempting as she'd be I'd rather not know. ;)

It's a great update guys!

The smart filters work easily, just take your snap and slide to the right or left, you will get a clock, the temperature, speed and filters (other option). Same with the filters, just slide right or left after taking the picture.

Happy SnapChatting!

Yeah, that definitely makes me a bit more concerned about the interactivity of my daughter & her friends. I need to go double check any filter settings now...
