Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for iOS gets remastered, adds the long lost Hidden Palace Zone

Classic Sega platformer, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for iOS, just got a pretty major update to version 3.0 and with it resurrects a piece of gaming history that once was lost. The infamous Hidden Palace Zone was featured in many early promotional images for the original release of the game, but was then cut from the final product. Now, though, Sega's brought them back, and we're really happy they did.

For the first time ever explore the mysterious Hidden Palace Zone. These lost levels feature undiscovered enemies, new hazards and a climatic showdown with Dr. Eggman.

We're not going to spoil it for anyone, after all, this is a piece of gaming history right here. So go and enjoy it! Besides this, Sega also added a brand new "Boss Attack" mode that challenges you to take on and defeat all of the games bosses in a single run, and you also get to play as Knuckles for the first time in Sonic 2.

The whole thing has been rebuilt from the ground up, with upgraded graphics, a remastered soundtrack and a silky smooth 60fps frame rate so it's perfectly optimized for mobile. It's been around for a while now, but Sonic 2 just became a must download for the very best in retro gaming pleasures. Who's excited?

Right here! Oo,oo! xD
Man, I remember playing so much Sonic on the SEGA Genesis... The sounds, the speed, every time I lost all my coins when I ran into stuff!

This is a game I would really want one of the iOS 7 enabled gaming controllers for. Does anyone know if it's supported?
