Sony PlayStation All-Stars Island hits the App Store as a giant Coca Cola ad

A new and free game from Sony has hit European App Stores, that so far brings Drake from the hugely popular Uncharted series to your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Sony PlayStation All-Stars Island will eventually bring together characters from other franchises by way of a free update, but the first game to play sees Uncharted meet Temple Run as Drake chases a Coke. Oh, that's the other thing; this is one huge, giant advertisement for Coca Cola Zero, and according to IGN is only available right now in Europe:

“The PlayStation All-Stars Island free iOS/Android app is part of a European marketing promotional program with Coke Zero and is currently only offered in select European territories. At this time, we have no plans to release this in the US.”

Beyond collecting coins, Drake also chases down drops of Coke which as he collects them fills up a bottle on screen. When the bottle fills, tapping it pulls you out of the game and into a special mini-game where you're joined by another PlayStation famous character who helps you get even more coins. It's not all that seamless, but since the game score is increased substantially through these challenges, it's well worth playing them.

It looks pretty good, and it plays pretty well, with some aspects such as climbing and balancing to take on as well as the regular running, jumping and sliding. Future games will feature Infamous, Little Big Planet and Gravity Rush. If you can get past the insane Coca Cola branding everywhere, it's not a bad little game, and it's free. Which other PlayStation characters would you most like to see appear on iOS in some form?

Reminds me of CAP... Crabs & Penguins which was/is a free game that came out a year or so ago and is also a Coca-Cola branded game.
