Game accessory maker SteelSeries, which launched the iOS game controller Stratus several months ago, has now announced plans to release a larger version, the Stratus XL, that looks a lot like an Xbox 360 controller.
The Stratus XL has a console controller-like D-pad on the left, along with four action buttons on the right and two analog sticks. It also has four shoulder buttons, with two on top and the other two serving as analog triggers on the bottom. Stratus XL has a pairing button to connect wirelessly, via Bluetooth, to iPad, iPhone and iPod touch devices running iOS 7, along with a power switch. SteelSeries says the controller will provide up to 40 hours of use with two standard AA batteries.
Up to four Stratus XL devices can be connected to one iOS product, with red LED lights in the middle indicating how many controllers or gamers are currently playing. SteelSeries has not yet announced a specific release date for the Stratus XL, nor has it revealed a price tag for the controller.
