Jesse Jackson Jr. claims the iPad is killing American jobs! [video]

Jesse Jackson Jr. is pointing the finger firmly in the direction of Apple and Steve Jobs, claiming they are responsible for killing American jobs.

It's simple: Because everyone can download books and newspapers, everyone who works at bookstores (he notes Borders going out of business) or the publishing industry, or for textbooks, will lose their jobs to the people making iPads in China.

It seems Jesse Jackson Jr. hasn’t taken into account the amount of jobs Apple has created in many other business areas. Take a look at the video after the break. Then make sure you pop back here and let us know what you think in the comments!

Apple hid iPad from Google's Eric Schmidt?

Nilay Patel, formerly of Engadget writes on his personal blog that, according to Steven Levy's new book, The Plex, after believing Google copied the iPhone with Android, they hid iPad development from Google CEO and former Apple board member Eric Schmidt.

The acrimony was so deep, we’re told, that Jobs kept the iPad a secret from Eric Schmidt even though Schmidt was still on Apple’s board of directors while it was being developed. (Schmidt would later step down, of course.) It’s juicy stuff, and it nicely feeds right into the current iOS vs. Android narrative of the day.

Bon Jovi: Steve Jobs killed the music business

Proving once again that being a successful entertainer does not afford business insight any more than being a good businessman affords singing talent, Jon Bon Jovi has decided to hold Apple's Steve Jobs personally responsible for killing the music business:

Kids today have missed the whole experience of putting the headphones on, turning it up to 10, holding the jacket, closing their eyes and getting lost in an album; and the beauty of taking your allowance money and making a decision based on the jacket, not knowing what the record sounded like, and looking at a couple of still pictures and imagining it. Having laid the groundwork for finger-pointing, the aging rocker launched his final insult:

How Apple's Steve Jobs out-Sony'd Sony

<img src="/sites/imore.com/files/images/stories/2010/11/Jobsipad.jpg" alt=How Apple's Steve Jobs out-Sony'd Sony" title="How Apple's Steve Jobs out-Sony'd Sony" width="400" height="224" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-43950" />

Interesting article over at SFGate detailing how Steve Jobs studies early Sony product development culture and Zen-like approach to design:

"It was very nearly fetishistic, in fact -- he even had a collection of Sony letterhead and marketing materials," laughs Deutschman. "Sony was a company that Jobs instinctively admired and saw as model from the very beginning. So it's been an interesting transformation over time, to see Apple supplant Sony as the center of the consumer technology universe."

Steve Jobs Ninja action figure now available

A new and improved version of the Steve Jobs action figure, simply called the “Pineapple CEO”, is now available. This time around M.I.C did their best to avoid any infringing features -- like the Apple logo stand -- while adding Ninja throwing stars.

If you want to get your hands on a Ninja Steve it will cost you $89.90 (that includes shipping) and you should probably make the purchase as soon as possible considering Apple's lawyers will be all over this in no time.
