Rene's favorite tech: 2013 holiday gift guide

In years past the staff of iMore and Mobile Nations have shared our favorite devices, apps, and accessories of the year for the holiday season. This holiday season and this year, however, we're expanding to not only reflect our increased focus on all things Apple - OS X as well as iOS - but on all the technology that works with it, maybe even competes with it, but ultimately extends, enhances, and improves our lives. We're people, after all, and categories do not contain us! So, whether you're looking for a gift idea, trying to find an excuse to treat yourself, or are simply curious about what all of us here have been using throughout the year, hopefully we'll have you covered. Here's my list for 2013, and a few of my favorite things!

Apple gift guide: How to pick the perfect iPod, iPhone, iPad, and Mac!

We're entering what is, for many, the biggest shopping and gift-giving season of the year, and by virtue of their quality, cachet, and overall coolness, Apple gifts are always high on everyone's lists. Like many of you this morning, I clicked on Rene's Gifts for alpha-geeks: Best beverage-making gadgets article, but I realized something after I started reading: Rene's list was a bit lightweight when it came to coffee. Gifts for alpha-geeks: Best beverage-making gadgets

Hard as it may be to believe, geeks do not live by Apple alone. Assuming your geek already has all the iPhones, iPads, and Macs money can buy, there's still a wide range of wonders for you to gift them with, and them to enjoy. Beverages are a great place to start. Much as we may try to deny it, geeks still need to drink to stay alive. Coffee not only keeps us awake and at the computer, it fills our olfactory senses and taste buds with magnificent flavors. Tea keeps us healthy, but also tantalizes and delights us. Water is life, but over-carbinated water makes it worth living. And just like the latest apps, accessories, and devices, there are gadgets for each of them, and for every geek!
