Infinity Blade and Angry Birds on 50" HDTV via iPad 2 HDMI video mirroring

Take an iPad 2 and HDMI adapter-enabled video mirroring and what do you get? Well in this quick test you get Infinity Blade and Angry Birds Seasons on a 50" HDTV screen. Sure on a 1080p display apps are letter- and pillar-boxed (black bars on all four sides) to maintain pixels (no blurry/aliased extrapolations that we could see) but video outputs full screen as always so it wasn't a huge deal. Playing iOS games at that size was.

No using iPad 2 as a big, tethered game controller probably isn't ideal and yes, business and educational institutions will likely be far more productive with video mirroring, but boy was this fun.

Anyone else trying out their apps and games on the big scr

Conan O'Brien plays life-sized Angry Birds and pokes fun at iPad 2 [Friday fun videos]

Last night, Conan O'Brian had a fun, life-sized game of Angry Birds on stage and teased Apple for getting cocky about the iPad 2 with a mock promo video that is based off the following slogan:

iPad 2. You'll buy it no matter what we say.

To make the Angry Birds game more exciting, Conan had the pigs hiding under IKEA furniture because Finland's arch rival is Sweden (Angry Birds was developed in Finland, and IKEA is based out of Swedan).

For some good laughs, check out the videos after the break!

New Angry Birds game coming in March

The next version of the hit game Angry Birds will be coming to the App Store in March. The new game will not be a true sequel, but will be a licensed game based on the tie in with 20th Century Fox's upcoming animated film Rio.

Rio is a film about rare birds being kidnapped by other birds and is all about them escaping to freedom. Therefore we assume in this game, you will be up against birds rather than the nasty pigs that steal your eggs.

The film Rio is due to be released on April 15th but the new game will be available sometime in March. No exact date yet, but we will let you know as soon as we hear. While you wait patiently, take a look at the video teaser after the break, then let us know what you think in the comments!
