Apple has confirmed the acquisition of Swell

On Monday, unconfirmed reports that Apple had acquired Swell, a popular radio and podcast compiler app available for both iPhone and iPad, began circulating from various sources. At the time, Re/Code had noted the deal was worth around $30M and while the financial details surrounding the acquisition remain a mystery, Apple has now confirmed the deal to The Wall Street Journal.

Spotsetter, a location-based social search engine, reportedly acquired by Apple

Apple has reportedly snatched up Spotsetter, an app and service that provided personalized recommendations for places to go. Spotsetter was co-founded in 2012 by Stephen Tse and Johnny Lee. Apple apparently has no plans for the app and service itself, but instead wanted to acquire the technology at Spotsetter and the two co-founders.
