New Mac mini announced

Apple announced an update to the Mac mini. The base model starts at $599 and includes a 2.5GHz dual-core i5 "Ivy Bridge" processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 500GB hard drive. Also included is an Intel HD Graphics 4000 graphics processor, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0. The storage is expandable to a 1TB hard drive or a 256GB solid state drive, and memory is expandable to 16GB. This is a minor update over the previous model, which started with a 2.3GHz "Sandy Bridge" processor, 2GB of memory, and an Intel HD Graphics 3000 graphics processor.

iWork updated to include new 3D charts, animations, and more

iWork for iOS has just been updated with many new features including brand new 3D charts, animations  and various other features. Each iWork app will be available for the same $9.99 price point and as a free update for existing owners.

The update will be available starting today and is a universal binary for both iPhone and iPad. We are assuming the new features in the update will be available to all iOS devices. iWork currently already integrates well for iCloud users making it easy to take your work on the go and pick up right where you left off when you get back to your computer.

New iPad pricing to start at $499 for Wi-Fi, $629 for 3G/4G LTE, available March 16th

Apple has announced availability and pricing for the new iPad during their iPad keynote, which won't be changing whatsoever from the previous lineup. The pricing structure will follow their typical $499/$599/$699 depending on storage space, which also carries over the to 4G LTE models at $629/$729/$829. The new iPad will be available to consumers on March 16th.

Apple has just announced that iOS 5.1 will be available to consumers starting today. Among the new features that will be included are things such as Siri support in Japan and the ability to delete individual photos within Photo Stream.

Apple announces iBooks Author for Mac OS X

Apple has announced iBooks Author at the education event in New York. iBooks Author will allow you to create books within Mac OS X for digital distribution through the iBookstore.

You can select from a number of templates already created for you or import your existing content. iBooks Author is made to compliment and work nicely with applications such as Word, Pages, and Keynote. You can even turn Keynote presentations into widgets within your book.

iBooks Author will be available today as a free download in the Mac App Store.
