How to disable automatic downloads on iPhone and iPad

By default your iPhone or iPad can automatically download App Store apps and music that you purchase either within iTunes on your computer, or on another iOS device. That means download an app on your iPad, and it's instantly on your iPhone as well. While some people like this convenience, others may not appreciate it, especially if storage space is an issue on certain devices. Luckily you can disable it in just a few taps.

iTunes want: Send apps from the desktop store straight to a specific iOS device

There's a feature I would love to have from iTunes over and above everything else: the ability to send apps I buy on the desktop straight to a specific iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. New settings for Automatic Downloads now available

If you take a look at your App Store settings, you'll find some new options for Automatic Downloads. This new feature allows you have new purchases made on other devices automatically download to the device you're accessing the settings from.

For example, let's say I purchase 1password Pro, a universal application for iPhone and iPad on my iPhone. If I have Automatic Downloads for apps enable on my iPad, 1Password Pro will automatically download to my iPad over the air. This feature is available for music, apps, and book purchases.
