A photograph of an internal Best Buy retail calendar screenshot may give us the best clue yet as to the launch day of the iPhone 5. The event in question is an Apple fixture installation and is scheduled for October 21st. The date in question is a Friday which would line up with other iPhone release days.
It's looking more and more like this Wednesday, April 27 is the day the [white iPhone 4](http://www.imore.com/tag/white-iphone-4/] finally arrives, at least in UK and the US. We've already seen Vodafone jump the gun on selling, and now 9to5Mac has some shots of Best Buy US in stock dates.
If that's the case, hopefully Apple will confirm with a press release on Monday. (That they've waited this long is the only thing that gives me pause -- manufacturing and distribution could still be a challenge.)
A reader of CrunchGear, who works for Best Buy, said that Best Buy was holding off on selling the iPad 2’s it had in stock, telling customers there weren’t any available. In fact they were in stock but allegedly Best Buy had just reached its sales quota for the day and wanted to hold further sales over to another day. As a result Apple is rumored to have pulled all stock of iPad 2’s from Best Buy stores with the exception of display models.
Forbes suggests Best Buy might be getting ready to roll out iPads to it's 1,100 store strong salesforce.
A source with knowledge of corporate mobile device deployments tells Forbes that one of the country’s top 10 largest retailers expects to distribute iPads to each of its on-floor sales associates. This retailer, the source adds, operates 1,100 stores across the U.S. As the country’s largest electronics retailer — as well as a retailer that currently operates around 1,100 stores in the U.S. — Best Buy is a natural match.
