The best voice recorder, weather, calculator, and stocks app alternatives for the iPad mini and iPad 4

When Steve Jobs introduced the very first iPad, one of his big statements was that the 75 million iPhone users in the world already knew how to use it. Well, many of those users were suprised to discover that five of the built-in apps that they had grown to love on their iPhone were missing on their iPad. Namely, Clock, Voice Memos, Weather, Calculator and Stocks. Rumor has it Apple didn't think those apps would scale to look good on the bigger iPad screen. Since then, Apple has added a clock app with iOS 6, but the other four are still missing. Fortunately, many great developers have filled that void and proven that, not only can these apps look good on the iPad. They can look great.

Bloomberg for iPad review: The best casual stock app for the iPad

Bloomberg for iPad is a great way for casual traders and investors to interact with their stocks and stay up to date with the news they care about the most.

The App Store is chock full of applications to help investors and traders manage their portfolios directly from their iPad. While some applications provide a wealth of information and are geared towards brokers and users with extensive portfolios, most users just don't need a $100 application to check in on their stocks. I've found Bloomberg for iPad to be a good compromise between usability and information overload.

Apple may be considering a bid to purchase Hulu

Two sources familiar with the auction are reporting to Bloomberg that Apple is considering a bid to purchase the Hulu service. This isn't too hard to believe considering Apple has $76.2 billion in cash and securities.

Hulu is already a competitor to Netflix but if Apple does make an offer, this may give Netflix an even larger run for its money. Especially after Netflix's recent pricing change that recently angered a lot of its customers.
