Our newest jailbreak ninja, Cody, recently let you know how to untethered jailbreak iOS 4.3.1 via redsn0w but since then, how has it been? I personally haven't had time to upgrade to iOS 4.3.1 and re-jailbreak. Cody however has voiced that he has had a lot more springboard crashes than he did under the previous iOS 4.2.1 greenpois0n jailbreak.

Most jailbreakers are aware that not all apps are compatible with a new jailbreak, so outside of those causing issues, are any of you experiencing issues? Cody and a couple readers have wrote in to let me know that they've experienced some safe mode crashes and reboots under iOS 4.3.1.

If you have issues, let us know in the the poll and/or in the comments as well as checking out our TiPb jailbreak forums to see what issues other members are experiencing and if they've found any ways around them.

Facebook for iPhone seems to be experiencing some -- hopefully temporary -- problems as we're getting flooded with users saying it's crashing for them on launch, repeatedly.

So take some solace in knowing it's not you or your iPhone, it's Facebook. Feel free to sound off in the comments until they get it fixed...

Update 1: As mentioned below, remember Facebook is a website and you can still go to http://www.facebook.com on your iPhone while you're for the app to come back online.

Update 2: Seems to be working again, let us know if you still have any problems or notice any other glitches.

Seems iTunes 8 for Vista 32/64 will crash if you hook an iPhone or iPod up to it, or, you know, look at it funny. Gizmodo says some users are having luck reverting back to 7.7, or doing a complete uninstall and then installing 8.0. Apple, meanwhile, is asking for crash logs to try to figure out what's happening.

Could Apple's Quality Assurance department really not have any Vista machines in-house to run tests on? Any other company, and we wouldn't even ask but as reader Bryan points out in the comments:

Apple, you’re looking more and more unstable as 2008 progresses. I’m not trying to be a jerk, but today’s press conference was absolutely unnecessary; these were minor product line changes, not something worth throwing an “event.” Please invest more in QA and less in these events.

We'd joke it was the new Gates/Seinfeld ad pressure, but we figure Vista users aren't in a real laughing mood over this. For my part, I haven't installed iTunes on my Vista machine yet, but now I'll make a point of it. Let's see what happens...

And Apple, break's over, b'okay?

Gotta love Steve Jobs and his blunt-force emails. This time, it's a lucky AppleInsider reader who sent it on a complaint about crash-prone applications, a problem which has plagued the iPhone 2.0 pretty much since launch. And what did the drive-by-Steve'ing say?

This is a known iPhone bug that is being fixed in the next software update in September

Will that be the still-in-beta 2.1? Another hotfix like 2.0.2? Jobs, of course, didn't elaborate. Smart money, however, would be on a 2.0.3 rev. so that Apple doesn't have rush 2.1 out prematurely, with just more of the same issues.

I know my Apps experience the dreaded Home Screening of Death (HSOD) semi-regularly, especially the new/updated ones. What about you? Smooth sailing or lots of crashes? If the latter, how far away must September seem? (And is it just us, or is the unresolved bug list for 2.x pretty dang scary compared to the relatively stable 1.x?)
