Apple's new employee cafeteria is nicer than any cafeteria you've ever been in

Between the glass, concrete, steel, wood, and trees, what we have here might be the nicest cafeteria on the planet. It's no surprise that it comes from Apple, purveyor of fine modern architecture and a few electronic gizmos. Apple's new cafeteria in Cupertino, not far from their existing Infinite Loop campus, is a massive space that would be instantly recognizable as an Apple structure.

Apple leases 215,000 square feet of office space in Sunnyvale, CA

Apple is reportedly leasing around 215,000 square feet of office space in a research and office complex in Sunnyvale, CA. It's rumored that Apple is aiming to acquire around 700,000 to 800,000 total square feet in that area. That much space is enough to accommodate over 3,000 Apple employees. The space in Sunnyvale is less than 15 minutes from their current headquarters in Cupertino.

Apple submits updated plans for new Cupertino campus

As reported by iPhoneincanada, Apple has submitted revised plans for the "mothership" campus they plan on building in Cupertino. The new renderings outline the internal layout and surroundings of the structure, and... They're absolutely gorgeous.

Apple originally sent Steve Jobs to the Cupertino City Council back in June to pitch the idea of building a new space for Apple employees since outgrowing their Palo Alto headquarters. They picked up the lot from HP back in 2010. The new plans detail the inner workings describing a restaurant and dining area, entrances and parking layout and more.

Check out some of the renderings below and let us know what you think in the comments!

Apple has made their special, internal celebration of Steve Jobs' life available on their website. It included talks from Apple CEO Tim Cook, SVP of Design Jony Ive, board members Al Gore and Bill Campbell, and performances from Norah Jones and Cold Play.

Of course you can still submit your thoughts on Steve's passing to Apple, which are now also appearing on the Apple site.

You can go and watch the video at the Apple website, via the link below.

Apple puts up the banners for the Let’s Talk iPhone event

Apple has begun its preparations for its upcoming “Let’s Talk iPhone” event on Tuesday October 4th. The banners reflect the invitation that was sent out last week. It shows the four iOS icons which are Calendar, Clock, Maps and Phone.

We are still unsure what exactly Apple will reveal at the event, most now believe it will be the iPhone 4S rather than an iPhone 5. I am still holding out for a completely new design for the iPhone 5 although that now looks highly unlikely.

Cupertino posts rendering, plans for Apple's new "mothership"

Cupertino.org has posted a bunch of PDF files pertaining to Apple's very Pixar-flying-saucer-esque new headquarters, planned for the old HP lot they acquired. The building, formed like a giant ring with apricot orchards, massive underground parking, and room for 20,000 employees, will make use of the same kind of leading edge design and manufacturing Apple has used for everything from their products to their Apple Stores, especially in constructing those huge, rounded glass panels.

It also looks like it might be able to detach and break earth orbit if our world ever becomes too aesthetically displeasing to Apple.
