Comcast and Electronic Arts are teaming up to launch the beta of their Xfinity Games streaming service. It will allow Comcast customers to play games on their televisions that are streamed to their set-top box. Games can be controlled via smartphones or tablets.

SimCity offline mode took six months to create, says lead engineer

Maxis recently announced that its 2013 release of SimCity will, for the first time, be playable offline. The game currently requires a persistent online connection to servers in order to work, but all that's set to change with the release of Update 10. Many, including me, have wondered what's taken so long. It was a major development challenge, according to the game's lead engineer.

Real Racing 3 update adds Ferraris, a new circuit and more!

EA has pushed out another impressive update to its equally impressive iOS racer, Real Racing 3, that for the first time brings cars from Ferrari into the mix. Not just any Ferraris either, but the F12 berlinetta, the FF and my own personal favorite, the 458 Italia. It's not just new cars either, the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona has been added too, along with a whole lot more.

EA drops a double F-bomb on Madden 25: Freemium and Facebook

Without fail, every year, we see updated titles to key franchises from EA, with a Madden NFL title being one of them. This year sees a milestone for the Madden series, with Madden 25 being the – you guessed it – 25th release. They've really gone to town on the console versions of the game, and in some regards the mobile version too. It looks incredible, has excellent controls for the touchscreen environment and all the licenses you can shake a stick at. But it's also the single most enraging game experience I've had in a long time. In short, EA has ruined this once great franchise with two 'F' words; freemium and Facebook.

Madden 25 now available for iPhone and iPad, jumping on the freemium bandwagon
