Steve Jobs was resistant to entering ebook market until the iPad came around

Steve Jobs was not looking to enter the ebook market before the creation of the iPad. This is according to Apple's SVP of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue, testifying in the Justice Department's ebook price-fixing case. According to Cue's testimony, it was the iPad that caused Jobs finally come around to the idea of an ebook service from Apple.

Ferrari looking to expand partnership with Apple, announces car that comes with iPad minis

Ferrari said today that it is in talks with Apple to expanding their in-car entertainment partnership, also unveiling a new, iPad mini-equipped car. The car, called “LaFerrari”, is a 1 million euro hybrid four-seat vehicle with iPad minis in the passenger seats. LaFerrari was announced at the Geneva motor show. Bloomberg reports:

iTunes 11 still launching this week, was delayed due to engineering issues

After its introduction during the September iPhone and iPod event, iTunes 11 was delayed from its initial October launch date to sometime in November. A more radical departure than previous updates, which included Genius Playlists and the ill-fated Ping social music network, iTunes 11 boats a new, more iOS 6 like interface, and deeper, tighter iCloud. When Apple announced the delay, they said iTunes 11 was taking longer than expected to get right.

Apple reportedly fires head of iOS 6 Maps team

Apple has reportedly fired the manager in charge of iOS 6 Maps, Richard Williamson. Williamson lead the mapping team that was responsible for the new, heavily criticized maps app that debuted in September. The dismissal of Williamson is one of Eddy Cue’s first major actions since being put in charge of maps in the management shakeup last month. Cue is said to be looking to TomTom to fix its landmark data as well as talking to mapping experts outside of Apple about how to be improve the experience. Apple has been hard at work fixing problems in Maps since the release of iOS 6.

Apple's Eddy Cue joins the Ferrari board of directors

Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of internet software and services, has joined the board of directors of Italian hypercar maker, Ferrari. In the press release announcing Ferrari's financial results of the first nine months of 2012, they also announced the appointment.

The Recording Academy is honoring Steve Jobs with a Grammy for his contributions to the music industry. The Trustees Award is recognizing his accomplishments such as the iPod and iTunes music store. Apple senior vice president of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue accepted the award on his behalf.
